GridStar Lite is provided by GridStar LLP. It is a professional application intended for authorized organizations, employees, technicians, and other approved users for meter-related operations, task management, and associated services.
By using GridStar Lite, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Your organization may also apply its own internal policies to your use of the application.

3. How we use information
We use information as necessary to:
- Authenticate users and manage authorized access;
- Activate, validate, and manage software licences;
- Connect to supported meters and perform requested meter operations;
- Create, assign, synchronize, and maintain task and operational records;
- Provide notifications and service-related communications;
- Maintain security, prevent unauthorized access, and investigate misuse;
- Diagnose failures, provide support, and improve reliability; and
- Meet contractual, regulatory, and legal obligations.
4. Permissions used by the app
GridStar Lite may request device permissions needed for its features, including:
- Bluetooth and nearby devices: to scan for and communicate with supported meters or equipment;
- Location: where required by the Android version or an enabled field-operation feature;
- Notifications: to deliver task updates, alerts, and service messages;
- Camera or media: only when an enabled feature requires capturing or attaching supporting information; and
- Network access: to authenticate, synchronize records, communicate with GridStar services, and receive updates.
You can manage supported permissions through Android settings. Disabling a required permission may prevent the related feature from working.
5. How information is shared
Information may be made available only as necessary to:
- Your organization and its authorized administrators or personnel;
- GridStar personnel who require access to operate, secure, or support the service;
- Service providers that process information on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, database, notification, security, or diagnostic providers; and
- Government, regulatory, or law-enforcement authorities when disclosure is required by applicable law.
Service providers are permitted to process information only for the services they provide to us and subject to appropriate contractual and security obligations.
6. Data storage and security
Information may be stored on the device and on systems operated by GridStar or its service providers. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. Information transmitted between the app and supported services is protected in transit where supported.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
7. Data retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain operational and audit records, satisfy contractual requirements, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations. Retention periods may vary according to the type of information and the requirements of the organization using GridStar Lite.
Information may be anonymized or securely deleted when it is no longer required.
8. Your choices and requests
Subject to applicable law and your organization's administrative requirements, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account. Because GridStar Lite may be provided through your employer or another organization, some requests may need to be submitted to that organization's administrator.
To submit a privacy or deletion request, email contact@gridstar.co.in. Please do not include passwords, licence keys, or other sensitive credentials in your email.
9. Children's privacy
GridStar Lite is intended for professional users aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the application.
10. Third-party services and links
The app may rely on third-party technology providers for functions such as cloud infrastructure, authentication, push notifications, or diagnostics. Those providers process information according to their agreements with GridStar and their applicable privacy terms. The app may also contain links to external websites; GridStar is not responsible for the privacy practices of websites it does not operate.
11. International processing
Information may be processed in locations where GridStar or its service providers operate. Where required, we take reasonable steps to apply appropriate safeguards to such processing in accordance with applicable law.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to GridStar Lite, our practices, or applicable requirements. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or other appropriate channels.
